Specifying Roadway Light Poles
A roadway pole specification should describe the application before it describes the pole. Height, shaft, arm and finish only make sense when the road and fixture data are known.

Start with the application
State whether the project is a municipal road, access road, car park, bridge approach, industrial route or replacement job. Add pole position, target height and foundation condition if known.
If the road layout is still being adjusted, the specification should mark which items are fixed and which items are still under review.
Define the equipment
List luminaire model, weight, EPA or wind area, bracket reach, cable entry and control accessories. For double-arm layouts, confirm whether both arms carry the same fixture.
The fixture schedule should match the pole schedule. If some poles carry different fixtures, list them separately.
Write scope clearly
A useful specification separates material, finish, shaft geometry, arm arrangement, base interface, packing and documentation. Do not bury open assumptions inside a single paragraph.
Before sending an RFQ, check that the specification says what the supplier should quote and what still needs buyer confirmation.

Use the resource as a preparation page, not as a finished specification. It helps the buyer organize the first message so the supplier does not need to guess the application, product family or document level.
When a project has several open items, write them down in the RFQ. A quotation can still start from assumptions, but those assumptions should be visible before price comparison.
Before sending files
Keep the file package focused. Send the drawing sheets, fixture datasheets, finish references and site photos that explain the light pole enquiry. Large unrelated file sets make the first review slower.
Name the open questions in plain language. For example: fixture model not fixed, color to match existing site, foundation drawing unavailable, or quantity still being checked. That kind of note saves a round of email.
